A huge thank you to everyone who was able to attend one of the community budget meetings this week. All those post-it notes where you voiced your comments are being compiled and a plan for sharing the feedback developed.
Again, this is just the beginning of the process and there will be more opportunities to provide ideas and opinions. If you haven’t already, please take a few minutes to complete the budget survey. The survey is an ideal way to give the Board of Trustees your input.
But hurry! The survey closes at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 9 to allow review before the March 12 board meeting.

I am surprised that this forum is not being used to brainstorm ideas, advocate for different funding priorities, or at least to just vent frustrations. I realize that this process is very difficult and time-consuming. Maybe people are just feeling Budget Burnout?
Hmmm…Now that the initial community and staff survey results have been posted, perhaps people will be more interested in contributing their thoughts here at the online forum.
Could somebody send out another email that contains a link to this forum? I wonder if people might be interested in using the forum, but they overlooked the original email that was distributed.
Or…Maybe people would rather spend time writing an email to a specific budget committee member so that they know that they are being heard, and know that they are not just wasting time writing on a web site that nobody seems to be using or reading!
Well, thanks anyway, for taking the time to create this site. It seems like a good idea. The more options we have for communication, the better off we will be. -Pete
Thanks for commenting Pete… I think the biggest issue thus far is that there aren’t that many things to discuss. I personally feel like we have now gathered enough feedback and will soon (hopefully) get the financial information we need so that the BAC can actually start truly biting into the issues. My fingers are crossed for more traction beginning with the next BAC meeting (week from Thursday).
I think once we have more substantive information/opinions to share with the community, we will have more significant topics to post that can stimulate discussion and opinion gathering.
